ORIGIN OF MATÉ
Maté is an herbal tea-like beverage that holds great popularity in countries such as Argentina, Uruguay, and Brazil. Despite its herbal nature, it boasts a subtle dose of caffeine which can be invigorating due to its amino acid contents. Crafted from the dried leaves of the yerba maté plant, this drink undergoes a transformation when its ripened leaves are expertly blended with aromatic herbs and spices. Traditionally the leaves are brewed using hot water and served in a gourd, where it's sipped through a metal straw.
