Love it

I got this cup/system as a birthday gift, and I love it! I use the hot water from my Kurig (large cup setting) and it fills it perfectly. Using this method I do not find the cup too hot to hold. This is a neat, clean way to make one cup of loose leave tea at a time. I am very happy with this product.

they were a big hit

I bought several of these for friends over the holidays and they were a big hit! I agree with other reviewers that the mugs are at first too hot to hold in your hand, but otherwise they're great. I love using mine at work. I hope they come out with more designs.

Poppy Fields

I just received my Poppy Fields Kati system and LOVE it. This is my fifth Kati cup. I have such a difficult time deciding which to use every day! Poppy Fields is my new favorite...the pictures don't do it justice, even close up. The photos make it look flat and 2 dimensional, but in reality it looks very 3 dimensional. It's also difficult to tell from the picture - on my monitor, at least - that some of the "grasses" in the field are purple. I'd love to see this as a Pugg design! I've cracked my pistachio Pugg and will be needing another soon. Poppy Fields would be my first choice! Thanks for such a great product!

Wonderful tea cup

I just purchased this cup and now I am waiting for my second one, this cup is wonderful perfect cup of tea and so handy the way it makes making a cup of tea so easy.i have had no issues with this cup at all it does not get to hot on outside I love the warmth of holding this cup in my hands.i look forward to buying more and creating a set for my two favorite tea pots.

Perfect

I bought this item because I am trying to step away from the trash generated by single-use teabags. At home, I use a large teapot, but that isn't convenient for me at work. Enter the Kati Tea Cup. It is incredibly easy to use, brews a lovely cup, has few breakable parts (I've had metal tea strainers with small pieces that break/bend easily), and cleans easily in my work sink. I highly recommend it. I've had no issues with the cup getting too hot, but I am using hot water from the water cooler in the break room, so perhaps other users are putting hotter water in it. I am very glad to reduce the amount of trash I generate both at home and at work. I would definitely buy this as a gift for a friend, too.

Nice, Easy, but too hot to hold

I like this Tea Brewing system because it's easy to use. I've had mine for a year and haven't had any issues with it cracking and mine did not come with a hole in the bottom at all. So sounds like the quality control and consistency with which these tea cups are made leaves much to be desired. My cup does get too hot to hold to the point where I have burned my hand. The double wall insulation seems faulty on my cup. So from the reviews it seems like it's hit or miss whether you get one that doesn't have a hole in the bottom or poor insulation or doesn't crack. I'd say get better quality control on these cups Tea Forte!

Great cup !l. The Kati cup does not get to hot to hold unless the user is boiling the Water too hot. There are different temperature for White green oolong and black tea. The black being the hottest. Microwaving is or should not be suggested ruins the taste and temperature of tea. It may also cause cracking. Tea Forte' always offers the best. In tea and products a Class company

Love!

I have the Tree Top design and I love it. It is the perfect size and it works splendidly for bagged teas, as well as loose leaf ones. I find myself pushing all my other mugs to the back and I am actually disappointed when this one is dirty and I have to use one of my old mugs (usually I go ahead and wash it so I don't have to use a different one). I do microwave the cup and so far I have not seen any liner separation or had any significant problems, so far (I've only had it four months). One thing I have noticed is that because the interior is white, some tea will stain it. A soak and scrub usually gets rid of the stain but a darker interior would probably make more sense. I do have one suggestion, like many others: a handle would be greatly appreciated. Only the very top of the cup gets too hot to touch, which is not an issue for me. The only reason I would like a handle is because I have almost dropped the cup several times, out of my own carelessness, and I would love to have the added security since I really don't want to be without it!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!

I have two of these mugs, and they are used constantly by my boyfriend and I. I am obsessed with cherry blossoms and I find that design to be beautiful. I was unsure about having no handle on the mug, but the double wall keeps the outside from getting scalding hot. You can set the mesh basket on the lid when you are ready to drink. I myself prefer to use a small ramekin from the local pottery place, which holds any drippings from the tea leaves better. I highly recommend this product and it makes a perfect and inexpensive gift!

Love at first sip!!!

I bought the grass cup while shopping in Galena, Illinois and absolutely LOVE it! I've read some reviews stating that the cup's liner begins to crack after about a year's worth of use. I have stopped microwaving the actual cup and just boil water in a different container in the microwave and then I pour it in the cup. The cup seems to stay cooler on the outside (obviously) because of this. I wonder if the liner issues are because people are microwaving them? Not sure, maybe! Anyway, it's an amazing little cup for people who like loose-leaf teas. However, the mesh basket doesn't catch all of the tea - especially once you get down to the bottom of the tea bag canister with all of the tiny pieces of the tea. I tend to throw the last bit of tea out because of the debris sitting at the bottom. EW! I've been wasting a ton of good TeaForte tea because of this!!! Other than these issues - a great cup!

Kati Tea Cup broke apart inside!

My daughter bought me the star magnolia Kati tea cup last year for my birthday. I instantly loved it and it became my favorite cup for drinking tea which I do about 3 to 4 times a day! But when the cup got to be almost 1 year old the inside of the bottom liner just cracked and fell apart. I can no longer use my cup:( I'm ordering another cup today and hope this doesn't happen to the second one.

I love this tea mug!

My mug was given to me as a gift. It was by far the most thoughtful gift someone can get me knowing that I love loose tea leaves. I use the tea cup everyday after I come home from work. A nice personalized cup of tea soothes and relaxes me while I work on my projects. My only small issue is that the ring to the strainer came off when I dropped it by mistake. I wish it was more sturdy being that the floor wasn't that far away. So I really can't use the strainer anymore. Other than that, I love my mug. Everyone compliments me on my mug and wonders where did I get it from.

The new way to "tea"

I received a gift card for Indigo books for xmas. I purchased this Kati Tea Brewing System with 10 loose leaf tea pouches. Tried the Apple Spice and it was so good. Didn't even add honey like i usually do to my tea. I LOVE IT! I find I can make two mugs of tea out of one basket of tea. Loose Leaf Tea is my new fav :)

Great!!

I just got my Kati today and I love it already! My mother had her friends over at the time and they loved it as well. I plan on buying one for my mother and one of my friends. I would highly recommend this. I bought Blueberry Merlot tea to go along with it, I don't think I'll ever buy a different brand!

Fabulous cups!

I own 5 of these kati cups and I absolutely love them. They get used every day and have not had any signs of wear and tear. Ive given several cups as gifts as well, everyone I give them to loves them also. By the way, I have had really good experience with their customer service (as Ive broken many lids). I have nothing but good things to say about the company.

Mesh Basket Should be Finer

I love the concept behind this cup but my 2 cents is that the mesh strainer needs to be finer. I love to brew Winter Chai in the morning and I find a lot of "debris" at the bottom of my mug. I've used other brewing systems that don't have this same result, so I'm a little bummed out. Although I love the cup, I'm not too crazy about how the tea strains through the basket. It won't stop me from using the mug, but I might have to go back to my old method.

Good loose brewing system, but...

Taken as a whole, this is a good loose tea brewing system for brewing tea by the cup. This is my 2nd purchase because after a few years, I got a little tired of looking at the grass cup, so I purchased the Cherry Blossom one. It arrived today and I am slightly disappointed. Cherry blossoms are pink, not red. My cup most definitely has red blossoms and doesn't look much like the photo or the box. I would have preferred the advertised pink artwork. However, that doesn't detract from the functionality and robustness of the Kati system itself. I highly recommend the Kati Tea Brewing system as a whole (just beware if you're ordering the cherry blossom design).

Broken mesh basket

I have had 2 of these cups. I love the design and the style but the handle on the basket broke off at the spot weld. I can still use it, but very disappointed that it broke! I would recommend being very careful when you tap out the used tea discards because that is when it happened. I love the teas!!! I don't buy any other brands anymore.

My Favorite Cup

I noticed other reviewers have said the cup is hot at first, but I have not had this issue. I have four of the grass cups and they are perfect to the touch, even out of the microwave! The tiny hole at the bottom which one reviewer noticed, I believe, is part of the double-wall design. Love this product for it's beauty, ease of use and ability to keep my drink warm for a while with the cover on.

Really Nice but Too Big and Gets Too Hot

Lovely item but for me the cup is too large. The standard 8 ounce size would be better for me. Also cup gets extremely hot. Would not but a second one.

It's artistic and functional.

Love this set. I purchased my cup with lid locally and now am buying a second for a gift. It's lovely (I have the one with the birds) and I love the perfect fitting lid. Yes, it gets a little warm to hold, however, at that point, the tea is too hot for me to drink anyway, so it's not a problem to wait another minute or two.

LOVE IT. BUT.........

Oprah is my friend in my head and when she recommended this cup I was solded. I brought a total of 5 cups and has recommeded Teaforte to family and friends. I love this cup for it ease of use and the fact that making tea for me is now a one step process instead of a two or three step process. So it is with a heavy heart I write this negative comment about this product. I've had this cup since december and recently notice that the double wall barrier in the inside seems to be seperating. I notice this when I was wasing the cup and saw that the tiny hole on the bottom of the cup had an air bubble where liquid seems to be coming out. Please look into this and think about some new redesign that would fix this issue. If this flaw was fixed I think that this will be one of the best brewing system on the Market.

Pretty, but hot to the touch

I love the look of these, but the cup is not 'cozy' to hold. I find it is much too hot to hold and it must sit and cool before handling. Not quite the functionality I was hoping for.

I love this cup!

This cup is such a quality piece! I enjoy drinking tea out of it and it creates a special me time! It is a great for anyone that wants to add beauty to their life. This cup helps me to savor every bit of the tea. However, tea leaves always end up at the bottom of this cup through the infuser. I just don't drink the last sip.

Enjoyable if I had more time with it

I really enjoyed my Kati but I am REALLY sad because about 1 day after I purchased it, and used it two or three times it got tangled in a chord and got pulled off my desk and the inside wall broke. But other then that I really liked it and would recommend this to anyone. Daniel

What a great idea!

I saw this on Oprah's favorite things 2011 and had to have one. i purchased myself and my tea buddy one each. I loved it so much I turned around and purchased 3 more. I love loose leaf teas, especially the hand rolled ones but I find it hard to not swallow the leaves, I get grossed out then it's all over with. This makes the perfect cup and I can dispose of all the leaves once they have steeped. It is wonderful.

Love this cup!

Love this cup! It is a bit hot at first, but the outside cools quickly and is cozy to hold. Makes loose tea even easier and the 12 oz. cup size is a bonus.

Keeps the tea hot and my hands warm.

I have 3 of these and have had them for years - love how they look and function. My tea steeps nicely and keeps hot longer, while my hands are protected from the heat. My teenagers managed to chip the lips of 2 of them, but I still keep on using them and will buy more!

Wonderfully Pragmatic Design (and CUTE too!)

I just purchased a couple of these on a whim, and I can happily profess that it was one impulse buy that won't come back to haunt me. Reasons I love it: - the double wall design keeps the tea warmer longer and allows you to hold the cup in your hands sans handle. The mug is still pretty warm, but definately safer than a traditional ceramic mug; I'm actually looking forward to clutching my KATI mug on cool winter nights. -The lid has also been designed to store the included infuser or a tea bag (should you go that route) after you have taken the lid off after brewing. Three cheers for minor details that serve a practical purpose! -MICROWAVE/DISHWASHER safe. Again, minor detail, but I have been bothered by how many tea mugs can't work in the microwave or dishwaver. Viva Functionality!

Replaced My Old Tea Cup

I got this as a gift and it has officially replaced my old tea cup! I took it to work today and it worked perfectly! It kept my tea hot for a long time, and the steeper is strong yet flexible. It's easy to use, and I actually like that there is no handle. It makes it so you have to cradle your cup, which just make it a more satisfying tea experience. I think we are all in such a hurry to get things done we don't take the time for the small things. Like a hot cup of tea! My new favorite, and I now want another one in another color! I have the star magnolia, very darling!

Hit and miss

I have 2 of these, and I've had them for about a year. One is great, but the other -- has some issues! Interestingly, the one with "issues" has a larger hole in the bottom than the other -- and the larger hole allows water from the dishwasher to get in. It then runs out at unpredictable moments! It also has some large hairline cracks on the inside -- I'm guessing due to water being trapped in the double wall. I'm sad to say I will have to throw that one away. When choosing one of these, look for one without a hole in the bottom.

Lovely

This is a really wonderful cup. I purchased the magnolia orange since it is the same color as my Kitchenaid Mixer. Its extremely easy to use, clean and its just so gosh darn cute. I even use it to make iced tea! I also like that the double wall tumbler keeps my tea hot and my hands warm. Ahh, I'm so in love with this cup!!

May need to buy another!

I only just discovered loose leaf teas a couple weeks ago when a friend hosted a tea party. I now have more than a dozen teas to try. I bought this cup to use at work. But I'm enjoying it so much at home, that I may need to buy a second one to bring to work. It's a beautiful cup! And since green tea can be steeped a few times, I can simply put the infuser back in the cup and cover with the lid until I'm ready for another cup. I love that the double-wall ceramic keeps the tea warm without burning my hands.

Delightful!

I just bought this yesterday and had my first tumbler full of hot tea today. The tea had a delicious depth of flavor. Could it be due to the double-wall construction? The exterior of the tumbler was warm to the touch which kept my hands comfy on a damp, dreary day here in Georgia. Beautiful and innovative idea...a touch of luxury for under $20.

Awesome!

I am really surprised to see that no one has reviewed this product. It really is amazing. I have a Keurig brewer that I use to heat water for a cup at a time. This system works perfectly for that purpose. It is well made and sturdy. It keeps my tea hot. I also love the design. For the price I couldn't be happier!

gorgeous cup. . . way too hot to hold!

Very odd system, which I received as a gift for Christmas. I love my green cup with it's neat little basket and top, but once I brew the tea in the cup, I cannot possibly hold the cup, since it is extremely hot, and it has no handle. It says it has "double wall construction", which i interpret to mean the outside of the cup stays comfortable to the touch. That is definitely NOT the case. So I either have a cup with faulty construction, or the designer needs to rethink the system.
