Winter Chai Hot Toddy
Every December calls for a signature holiday drink. Our favorite? The Winter Chai Hot Toddy, made with Empress 1908 INDIGO GIN and Winter Chai herbal tea, which you can find in both our Warming Joy and Winter Chalet collections. Winter Chai Hot Toddy
Ingredients
- 1 Tea Forté Winter Chai pyramid tea infuser, or 1 tsp of Winter Chai loose leaf tea
- 3/4 cup boiling water
- 1.5 oz (3 tbsp) Empress 1908 INDIGO GIN
- 1 oz honey syrup (2 tbsp of honey and hot water each, mix until dissolved)
- 0.5 oz (1 tbsp) fresh lemon juice
- 1 dash orange bitters
- optional garnishes: 1 cinnamon stick, 1 star anise pod, 1 lemon wheel
Directions
- Unwrap the tea infuser and place in a glass mug. Pour in the hot water and steep 3-4 minutes, depending on your desired strength. When done, remove the infuser and discard. If using loose tea, scoop the tea into an infuser basket and place into the mug. Pour in the hot water over the tea leaves and steep. When done, remove the infuser basket and discard the tea leaves.
- Add in honey syrup, lemon juice, gin, and orange bitters and stir.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick, star anise, and a lemon wheel. Cheers!
